PCLL Programme Structure

The PCLL consists of two stages:

Stage 1: The compulsory courses

During Stage 1, you will take 5 compulsory courses. They are:

Professional Practice
Commercial Practice
Property and Probate Practice
Civil Litigation Practice
Criminal Litigation Practice

Stage 2: The elective courses

During Stage 2, you will study 5 elective courses. The current arrangements are (see Note 2 below):

Notes:

  1. The normal medium of instruction for PCLL courses is English. However, we also offer two elective courses, Writing and Drafting Litigation Documents and Writing and Drafting Commercial Documents, in Chinese. These electives are a response to the increase in use of written Chinese, both in litigation and in commercial work. You must demonstrate competency in Chinese if you select these electives.
  2. The offering of an elective course in any term will depend on teacher availability and sufficient student interest.
  3. Please note that all students must also satisfy the University's general IT Proficiency Requirement.
