The Faculty of Law's PCLL Programme is unique and innovative, offering you a skills-focused training programme that closely reflects the work that lawyers undertake in practice. You will work in an active learning environment in small groups and receive individual feedback. Our PCLL is the product of a review of equivalent professional legal education courses internationally and of liaison with the legal profession in Hong Kong, through our PCLL Academic Board and working parties, meetings with the Judiciary and the Department of Justice, discussions with law firms and focus groups held with recent PCLL graduates. The outcome of these preparations is a PCLL Programme that is calibrated to meet the current needs of the legal profession and designed in partnership with it.
The CUHK PCLL is a one-year full-time programme. In the first stage of the programme you will study core practice areas and develop core skills. In the second stage you will choose from a wide range of electives that are designed to reflect the range of work undertaken by solicitors and barristers in practice.
You will be taught on our campus in Sha Tin in a state of the art Law Faculty building designed by the award winning architect Rocco Yim. The new Faculty of Law building, situated immediately adjacent to the main University Library, contains a purpose¡Vbuilt Moot Court and interactive teaching rooms. Your classes will be led by experienced teachers and renowned practitioners.
