Education and Qualification

Biography

Dr. Leung Ka Kit graduated Magna Cum Laude, Dean’s List from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a lecturer of the Division of Genomics and Bioinformatics, CUHK-BGI Innovation Institute of Trans-omics. He has taught courses related to programming, biocomputing, theories and algorithms in Bioinformatics and systems biology. He is also responsible for reviewing student assessment and programme development policies, research student supervision, working with BGI to align resources in publicity and education, screening out cost-ineffective promotional strategies and events, holding information sessions and maintaining an alumni and current student network. Dr. Leung is also an honorary consultant at Changsha Center for Disease Control and Prevention, to help the co-workers there to set up a team for virus bioinformatics research and recommend strategies to improve comparative advantage and supervise research projects. He has co-authored a paper on Shigellosis control in China and another one on Ebola virus disease with the co-workers of Changsha Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Several influenza-themed papers are under preparation.
