Second Annual Symposium on Pharmacovigilance
Pharmacovigilance Strategy to Maximise Drug Safety

On 4 March 2011, 177 doctors, pharmacists, nurses and pharmaceutical associates attended the "Second Annual Symposium on Pharmacovigilance" held at the Postgraduate Education Centre of the Prince of Wales Hospital.  This Symposium was organised by the Centre for Food and Drug Safety, Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Department of Health and Medication Safety Committee, Hospital Authority and officiated by Dr. P.Y. Lam, Director of Health and Prof. T.F. Fok.

Experts from China, Hong Kong, U.K. and Thailand emphasised the importance of pharmacovigilance strategy in maximising drug safety.  The Symposium also provided a platform for the participants to exchange knowledge on how their joint efforts can help safeguard the efficacy, safety and quality of the medicines available in the market.
