The Gynaecological Cancer Research Laboratory was set up in 1988 in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Main areas of research include the study of oncogenes, tumour suppressor genes, and tumour markers in gynaecological cancers. In recent years research areas have also expanded into prenatal molecular research. The laboratory collaborates widely in the above research fields with universities in USA, Australia as well as in mainland China. This laboratory also provides facilities and guidance for post-graduate students to conduct MPhil and PhD programs.
The laboratory occupies a spacious room on the first floor in a special block of the Prince of Wales Hospital.
