Ms. Kai Yan Yeong, a PhD student of Department of Microbiology, CUHK under the supervision of Professor Margaret Ip, was selected as one of the best presenters and awarded a USD500 worth of travel grant in the 4th Asian Pneumococcal Symposium (APS) 2023 in Seoul, South Korea. She is working on genomic epidemiology of pneumococci and had presented her work as a poster entitled "Epidemiology of pneumococcal carriage and its co-carriages from hospitalized children in Hong Kong".
