Doctor of Nursing Programme

This four-year part-time taught programme aims to prepare registered nurse working in advanced clinical specialist roles with the required advanced clinical and research knowledge to develop innovative evidence-based approaches to practice to promote high quality patient and client care.  The programme will enable advanced nurse practitioners to: 

Critically evaluate the concepts, theory and processes underpinning effective clinical-decision making in managing complex health needs;

Disseminate knowledge and evidence-based practice to provide clinical leadership through teaching, expert mentoring and developing innovative approaches to care;
Initiate, design and conduct original empirical research in an area of clinical practice.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
An essential component of the programme is the completion of a doctoral thesis based on empirical research. The thesis runs throughout the programme commencing with developing the selected topic in year 1, undertaking the research in years 2 and 3 and writing up in year 4. Experienced academic staff will supervise students’ research studies.

Master of Nursing or equivalent degree

Registered nurse normally with two years post-registration experience.

 

TUITION FEE

HK$68,000 per annum (subject to adjustment)
