Uterine fibroids are benign smooth muscle tumors occuring mostly in reproductive age group. Most of them occur in the myometrium, but they can also be subendometrial or subserosae. When it is situated in the cervix, it may cause difficulty in delivery of baby. Note the well circumscription of the tumor which has typically white silky whorled cut surface.
