Schistosomiasis of urinary bladder*


Schistosomiasis is probably the commonest worm infection of man worldwide. It produces granulomatous lesions in the GI tract, urinary bladder and the portal tract. In the bladder, multiple pseudopolyps can be seen stone formation and obstructive uropathy. Schistosomiasis also predisposes to the development of cancer in the urinary bladder.
