Glioblastomas are the commonest primary intracranial tumor in adults. It is the most malignant form of astrocytic tumors. Typically, it is located in the corpus callosum and infiltrates the adjacent brain tissues widely.
The tumors have a poor prognosis : the median survival is less than 1 year.
