Biography

Dr Ng graduated in biochemistry from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with First Class honors in 2006 and completed his Ph.D research program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010, followed by 3-year post-doctoral research in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Miami Veterans Affair Medical Center, USA.

In 2013, Dr Ng was appointed as the Assistant Professor in Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

Dr Ng is a reviewer for international conferences and international journals. Dr Ng has delivered 10 lectures as invited speaker in conferences and institutions in Asia and USA.


Research interests

  1. Biology and preclinical trial of human adult stem cells on ocular diseases.
  2. Therapeutic effects of herbal medicine and bioactive molecules on ocular diseases.
  3. Molecular mechanisms of retinal ganglion cell differentiation and regeneration.
  4. Molecular genetics of myopia, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma.
