Dr. Joan SK NG

Dr. Ng graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and worked at Prince of Wales Hospital. She received training in ophthalmology both locally and abroad in United States and Australia with subspecialty interest in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. She has received subspecialty training in Smith-Kettlewell eye research institute, the University of California, San Francisco; Princess Margaret Hospital, Royal Eye and Ear Hospital, and the New Children Hospital, Australia.

Dr. Ng is currently the Chief-of-Service in Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in Prince of Wales Hospital, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Honorary Consultant of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital. She is also the coordinator of the paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus subspecialty in the above two hospitals as well as the convenor of this subspecialty interest group in Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Ng is dedicated in search of excellence and fully committed in providing high-quality eye service. She is an integral part of undergraduate and post-graduate training in the medical schools of both the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong. Her current major research areas include steroid-induced glaucoma, amblyopia, retinoblastoma, paediatric cataract and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases in children. She has published a number of peer-review articles in high-standard international articles.

Dr. Ng also actively organises and participates in community and voluntary work. Besides serving as an Honorable Ambassador Ophthalmologist for "SightFirst China Action" sponsored by the Lions Club International, she is also the Ambassador Ophthalmologist in "Lifeline express" charitable program in eye care. Besides, she is the project coordinator and the professional adviser of "Action for Vision".
