Dr. John KH CHUA

Dr. John Chua graduated from the University of Hong Kong and received specialist training and fellowship examination in ophthalmology in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He has a special interest in glaucoma and is actively involved in clinical and laboratory research including the epidemiology, pathogenesis, molecular genetics, diagnosis and treatment modalities for various forms of glaucoma. He has contributed more than 25 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for Ophthalmology, an international ophthalmic journal. Dr. Chua is currently the Subspecialty Coordinator and Trainer in Glaucoma at the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Deputy Subspecialty Coordinator and Trainer in Glaucoma at the Hong Kong Eye Hospital. He enjoys teaching and serves as the Coordinator for Medical Student Teaching at the Prince of Wales Hospital and contributes as an integral part of postgraduate training and surgical skill transfer for ophthalmologists from Hong Kong and Mainland China. Dr. Chua is also actively involved in community and voluntary work. He serves as an Honorable Ambassador Ophthalmologist for SightFirst China Action sponsored by the Lions Club International and he hopes to extend his expertise to patients in Mainland China.
