CUHK soars in THE World's Most International Universities Ranking

CUHK is now ranked among the world’s elite for its international profile, according to the World's Most International Universities 2017 ranking published by Times Higher Education (THE). The University has made a great leap upward in the global ranking to 27th from 108th last year, proving the University's growing international reputation. It is also ranked 2nd in Hong Kong and 3rd in Asia Pacific.

The ranking looks at the world’s top 500 universities and measures factors such as the proportion of international students and staff, as well as research journal publications with at least one international co-author. This year, the ranking also measures international reputation for the first time, which is based on a global Academic Reputation Survey of 10,000 scholars around the world to name the world’s best universities for teaching and research in their field.

In an effort to enhance its reputation and international presence, CUHK has recently embarked on a branding campaign on THE and another key international platform, QS. International partnerships have been developed progressively with eminent overseas institutions so as to extend the University’s footprint in the global education scene. Internationalisation will continue to be pursued across different domains of the University’s activities, including teaching and learning, research, student and faculty recruitment, etc.
