About the McDonnell International Scholars Academy
The McDonnell International Scholars Academy aims to attract talented international students for advanced educational experiences, and provides a means for the University to learn more about the global community. To ensure the highest quality programme, the Academy is focused and small, involving a limited number of Scholars and University Partners. Scholars are selected on the basis of their promise to become future leaders in academia, government, the professions, or the corporate world.

A special feature of the McDonnell Academy is that each Scholar is paired with an Ambassador appointed by Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton and the Academy, who serves as a mentor and assists in the Scholar's academic and professional life at WUSTL. The Ambassador is also the main contact of the Scholar's alma mater (for CUHK the Ambassador is Prof. WANG Ping, Seigle Family Professor in Arts and Sciences at WUSTL) who is responsible for building relationships with the University Partner. The Ambassador will accompany the Scholar on a 1-week annual trip to the Scholar's alma mater to explore scholarly collaboration opportunities.
