language training in Chinese and English for all students. You are
welcomed to take Chinese or English language courses according to
your own academic plans and needs.
Chinese Language Courses
The Yale-China Chinese Language Centre (CLC) offers Cantonese and Putonghua
courses at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. With
a history of nearly half a century, the CLC is at the forefront
of Chinese learning techniques and is one of the largest centres
of its kind worldwide.

English Language Courses
The English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) provides a variety of
courses for ESL (English as Second Language) learners to brush up
their English skills. There are courses on listening, oral, writing,
reading, presentation, public speaking and vocabulary. If your mother
tongue is not English, you will find these courses useful.
