Notes: |
-
The immersion
trip fee includes round trip transportation by
train/coach/catamaran to Guangzhou, China, accommodation in a student
dormitory (twin or triple room), breakfast, welcome and farewell
dinners, and visit-related expenses such as admission tickets and
local transportation.
-
Entry visa to
mainland China, if required, and lunch and supper are at the student’s own
expense.
-
China visa: no
visa is needed for Japanese passport holders staying less
than 14 days. For other nationalities, a China visa is mandatory.
It is preferable for
students to apply for the China visa on their own through the
Chinese embassy in their place of residence. They may be required to show
their CUHK acceptance letter and any evidence of payment. In the
China sponsor section, they can write “The Chinese University of
Hong Kong” and “South China Normal University”. Students can
also opt
to apply China visa in Hong Kong, but it
may take more time to process and increase uncertainty. Please
visit
www.ctshk.com/english/useful/chinesevisa.htm for more
information. In any circumstances, students should make sure
their
passport and China visa validity period covers the entire period
of the China immersion trip.
-
The
administrative fee covers the fees for a student visa to Hong
Kong, orientation and some official activities, and reading materials.
-
The hostel fee
at CUHK does not include a meal plan.
-
All fees paid
are non-refundable unless otherwise specified. The caution
money and hostel deposit will be refunded after the programme if
there is no outstanding payment.
