The CUHK International Summer School ¡V Chinese Language Programme (ISS-CLP) provides you with an opportunity to learn Putonghua and acquire pragmatic competence through lessons and cultural activities. The ISS-CLP embraces language learning, cultural immersion and entertainment and offers a remarkable experience for non-native Chinese learners.

At the ISS-CLP, all Putonghua courses are taught by CUHK well-trained and experienced instructors in a class size of below 23. Students with a similar Chinese language level will form groups of 4 to 6 for school orientation, oral skill practice, tutorials and cultural activities. Each group will be led by a trained CUHK student(s) as teaching assistant or ambassador.

In 2012, about 40 students attended the ISS-CLP. They came from Japan, Canada, the U.S., South Korea, Austria, the U.K., the Netherlands, Morocco and Signapore

The 2013 ISS-CLP programme spans three weeks in August. Four levels of Putonghua courses will be offered.

Online application for admission begins from 9 am (Hong Kong time) on 18 February 2013. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students and high school seniors who have received a confirmed offer from a recognized university are welcome.
