CUHK regulations on honesty in academic work

The extracts below appear in the General Regulations applicable to students in various programmes:

  • Full-time Undergraduate Studies: 19.1(d) (for students admitted to the 3-year curriculum) /15.1(d) (for students admitted to the 4-year curriculum)

  • A student who violates any rule or regulation and/or commits any misconduct, including but not limited to the following:

    (d) plagiarism in written assignments or cheating in tests or examinations; ...

    shall be disciplined by the Senate Committee on Student Discipline, or other disciplinary committees as appropriate, including Board of Faculty and College Assembly of Fellows, as shall be vested with authority in handling matters pertaining to the discipline of students, in accordance with the nature and gravity of the offence.


  • Part-time Undergraduate Studies: 17.1(d)

    A student who violates any rule or regulation and/or commits any misconduct, including but not limited to the following:

    (d) plagiarism in written assignments or cheating in tests or examinations; ...

    shall be disciplined by the Senate Committee on Student Discipline, or other disciplinary committees as appropriate, including Board of Faculty and College Assembly of Fellows, as shall be vested with authority in handling matters pertaining to the discipline of students, in accordance with the nature and gravity of the offence.


  • Postgraduate Studies: 16.1(d)

    The University may take disciplinary action against a student who violates any rule or regulation prescribed by the University authorities, and/or commits any misconduct, including but not limited to the following:

    (d) plagiarism in written assignments or cheating in tests or examinations;...

  • Associate Students: 9.1(d)

    A student who violates any rule or regulation and/or commits any misconduct, including but not limited to the following:

    (d) plagiarism in written assignments or cheating in tests or examinations; ...

    shall be disciplined by the Senate Committee on Student Discipline, or other disciplinary committees as appropriate, including Board of Faculty and College Assembly of Fellows, as shall be vested with authority in handling matters pertaining to the discipline of students, in accordance with the nature and gravity of the offence.
