| "A matter of s/he" On-line Training Module on Preventing Sexual Harassment |
This interactive on-line training module for tertiary institutes aims to raise users' awareness of behaviour that may constitute unlawful sexual harassment under the Sex Discrimination Ordiance in an educational setting.
The training module (www.eoc.org.hk:8080/shoncampus) contains three parts:
1. An interactive mini-quiz to test one's knowledge on sexual harassment |
| 2. A tutorial on the definitions and various types of sexual harassment, and liabilities of schools and |
| 11individuals |
3. A test consisting of scenario-type questions |
| Open for Application: Sponsorship on "Preventing Sexual Harassment" Program |
The Committee Against Sexual Harassment initiated the Sponsorship on "Preventing Sexual Harassment" Program, aiming to encourage staff and student organizations on campus to carry out activities in promoting understanding of issues in relation to the prevention of sexual harassment and gender equality. Since its launch in 2008, the Committee has funded over 30 organizations. Applications will be accepted throughout1 the year. The maximum funding limit for each successful application is $5,000. Applicants should submit their application at least 30 days before the starting date of the proposed activity.

| Amendment to the Sex Discrimination Ordinance |
An amendment of the Sex Discrimination Ordinance has been made to extend the provision on "hostile or intimidating environment" to the field of education with effect from October 3, 2008. After the amendment, the sexually hostile environment concept also applies to educational settings, meaning that conduct of a sexual nature which creates a hostile or intimidating environment is unlawful.
