Q1: How many units are needed to complete the program by students with HKDSE results?

A1: Students admitted on the strength of their HKDSE results shall complete at least 123 credit units before graduation.

 

Q2: What is the program structure of IBCE?

A2: IBCE is a “4+1″ program, i.e. four-year undergraduate degree at CUHK and one-year Master of International Business (MIB) at USC. CUHK students will have their one-year undergraduate exchange at USC during their third year of study. In the first year of study at CUHK, students are required to take more non-business courses (e.g. Chinese, English, IT, General Education, Physical Education) to fulfill other University requirements.

 

Q3: Can students take any minor programs or double majors?

A3: Yes. Students can take elective courses at both CUHK and USC to meet the requirements of a minor program or second major.

 

Q4: What will students admitted with the strength of their HKDSE results study in their first year at CUHK?

A4: Faculty package of business foundation courses, language courses, general education, physical education and elective courses.

 

Q5: Do IBCE students need to choose a concentration area?

A5: No. IBCE is their concentration area. Yet, students can develop a second concentration such as General Finance, Financial Engineering, Insurance and Risk Management, Human Resources Management and Marketing.

 

Q6: Is it a must for IBCE students to study Putonghua?

A6: Yes. IBCE students will be required to sit for Putonghua benchmark tests before graduation and be proficient at the intermediate high level.

 

Q7: What is the GPA requirement for IBCE students at CUHK?

A7: IBCE Students are required to obtain an overall GPA of at least 3.0 in CUHK. If a student’s overall GPA is below 3.0, he/she will be automatically transferred to the Integrated BBA Program.

 

Q8: Is GMAT required for admission to the Master of International Business?

A8: Yes. The suggested minimum GMAT score is 650.
