Fang Xiaoru

From a family of scholar-officials in modern Zhejiang, Fang was an eminent orthodox Confucian scholar, famous for his lucid and elegant prose style, who was tutor to the Jianwen Emperor Hui when the Emperor's uncle (later Cheng Zu) seized the throne in 1401. Fang refused the usurper's demand for loyalty and was executed along with all his clan.
