Guo Shuyu

A Qing dynasty poet. She lived in Xiangtan, Hunan province, at a time when some educated families actively encouraged the creativity of their female members and published their works privately. Her collection, Xiuzhuxuan shiji [Collected Poems from Embroidery and Pearls Gallery], was published together with those of six other Guo women under the title Xiangtan Guo shi guixiu ji [Collected Poems by Cultivated Ladies of the Guo Family of Xiangtan] in 1837.
