Hu Yanqing (Woo Yin Ching) 1954-

Hu started writing poetry as a teenager, and was awarded a number of important local literary prizes in the last two decades of the 20th century. She received her bachelor's and master's degree in Chinese literature from the University of Hong Kong, and joined the Language Centre of Hong Kong Baptist University in 1985, where she is now Associate Professor. Her poetry collections include Panyuan zhi ge Ãk½t¤§ºq [The song of the climber] (1995), Diche li ¦a¨®ùØ [In the underground] (1997), and Huchenghe Å@«°ªe [The moat] (2000). Her latest essay collection is Geng nuande difang §ó·xªº¦a¤è [A warmer place] (2006).
