Liang Bingjun (P. K. Leung, also known by his pen name Yesi 也斯) 1949-2013

Born in China, Liang grew up in Hong Kong. He worked for various newspapers and periodicals before he became an academic at the University of Hong Kong, and later at Lingnan University. He is the author of many volume of poetry, fiction and essays, and was the first to introduce French New Fiction and Latin American fiction to Hong Kong and Taiwan readers in the early 1970s. He was the recipient of the Thumb’s Poetry Award in 1983. In 1991, his work Bulage de mingxingpian 布拉格的明信片 [Postcards of Prague] (1990) won the inaugural Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature (Fiction).
