Liang Shiqiu (Liang Shih-ch'iu) [real name Liang Zhihua] 1902-1987

Prominent essayist and translator all the works of Shakespeare into Chinese. He attended the University of Colorado as a senior and then did research at Harvard and Columbia. After returning to China he was chairman of the English departments at Peking University and Peking Normal University, before going to Taiwan in 1949 and teaching at Taiwan Normal University until his retirement in 1966.
