Li Dongyang (Li Tung-yang) 1447-1516
An important poet and influential critic who preceded the mid-Ming Archaist movement. He was something of a child prodigy and passed the jinshi examination at the age of sixteen. He then embarked upon an official career of some fifty years, during which he attracted many followers who in turn exerted great influence on literary developments during the Ming.
