Lin Haiyin 1919-

Modern/contemporary prose writer. Lin was born in Osaka, where her father was a businessman, and returned to the family home in Taiwan when she was three, only to move again to Peking, where she grew up, trained as a journalist and worked as a journalist and editor. In 1948, she and her husband and children moved to Taiwan. There, she has continued her writing. Her works include Chengnan jiushi [Memories of Old Peking], a series of stories that was made into an award-winning film.
