Li Zhiyi 1038-1117

A Northern Song-dynasty (960-1125) poet and prose writer, Li gained the jinshi degree around 1078. He held several minor posts until he became embroiled in a controversy over an obituary, which resulted in his transfer to Taiping prefecture (in present-day Anhui). There he lived at Guxi, the place after which he named his collection of poetry Guxi ci ©h·Ëµü. Later his name was cleared and in 1117 he was appointed Grandmaster for Court Audiences.
