Lu Zhi (Lu Chih) 1242?-1314?

Yuan-dynasty author of sanqu poems who hailed from what is now Henan. In the early days when the Yuan had unified the whole of China, Lu enjoyed a substantial reputation for his poetry. He is also described as a writer with extensive social connections, and he was known to have friends amongst the better known authors of poetic dramas set to music [zaju] and sanqu, as well as actors and poets. Although best known for his sanqu, over 50 shi poems and more than 20 ci have also survived.
