Ma Sen 1932-

Ma Sen started writing and acting in 1949 when he was still at school. He gained his MA degree from the Chinese Department of National Taiwan Normal University in 1959 and went to Paris to study directing and acting, later obtaining a PhD in sociology from the University of British Columbia. He has taught at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He writes fiction, prose, film scripts, and plays, in addition to scholarly studies of Chinese drama. His published work includes Ma Sen dumuju ji [Selected one-act plays by Ma Sen], Shenghuo zai ping zhong [Life in a bottle] and Yeyou [Nocturnal wanderings]. He now lives in Taiwan.
