Shu Yi 1935-

Shu Yi was born in Qingdao and is the son of the modern writer Lao She. After graduating from the Kirov University of Forestry Technology in Leningrad, he returned to Peking and worked as an engineer. He began writing in 1978 and was appointed deputy director of the Institute of Modern Chinese Literature in 1984. His publications include Lao She, The Last Two Days of My Father and Essays on Lao She.
