Xing Lin Zi (Hsing Lin Tzu) [real name Liu Hsia] 1942-2003

Contemporary Taiwan writer. Xing Ling Zi contracted rheumatoid arthritis at the age of twelve and has been confined to a wheel-chair ever since. She turned her misfortune into an opportunity to help handicapped people, and founded the Eden Foundation, which provides them with learning and working opportunities. Her published output includes collections of prose such as Xile niannian [Years of delight], Ling yi zhong aiqing [Another kind of love] and Kaige ji [Songs of victory] as well as collections of short sketches, reportage and biography.
