Xue Lundao (Hsüeh Lun-tao) fl.1580

Ming-dynasty writer of sanqu [lyric verse]. A native of modern Hebei province, Xue served in the army for 30 years and rose to the rank of general, but he was frustrated in his attempts to gain the Emperor's attention and resigned to devote himself to poetry and sanqu writing. Anger and frustration are evident in many of his lyrics. Over 1000 poems are included in his poetry collection Linquan yixing.
