Xue Yiwei 薛憶溈 1964-

Born in Chenzhou, Hunan and grew up in Changsha. Xue received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, his M.A. in English Literature from Université de Montréal, and his Ph.D. in Linguistics from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. In 2009-2010, he was appointed visiting fellow in the City University of Hong Kong. His acclaimed books include a novel Yi qi 遺棄 [Abandonment] (1989), a collection of stories Liudong de fangjia 流動的房間 [A floating room] (2006) and a critical edition of his war stories Tongwang tiantang de zuihou na yi duan lucheng 通往天堂的最後那一段路程 [The last path to heaven] (2009). He won a literary prize of United Daily News 聯合報 in Taiwan. He currently lives in Montreal, Canada.
