Xu Shangying 徐上瀛 c.1582–1662

Xu was a famous qin 琴 player from Jiangsu province in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. He was a master of the Yushan 虞山 School, the most influential school of qin music at the time. His most important work, Dahuange qinpu 大還閣琴譜, a qin handbook, was published in 1673. It was widely circulated and reprinted a number of times during the Qing.
