Yang Lingye [real name Huang Zhongcong] 1923-

Taiwan poet. Born in Anhui province, Yang Lingye began writing classical poetry at the age of fifteen and only developed an interest in modern poetry in the late 1940s. His first collection—Xue de gaoshi [The blood's notice]—appeared in 1948. After moving to Taiwan in 1950, he was involved with the editing of various poetry magazines and worked with the army. He has also published a book of essays on poetry entitled Qian shou qian yan [A thousand hands a thousand eyes] and collections of essays.
