Zheng Chiyan (Chang Chak Yan) 1936-

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Zheng received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York in 1975 and joined the Department of Government and Public Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1977. His publications include academic writings and news commentaries, the latter appearing mostly in local magazines. He is also the author of political allegories such as Diaoyu zhengzhi 釣魚政治 [The politics of fishing] (1987) and Yanggou zhengzhixue 養狗政治學 [Pet dog politics] (1995). He now heads the Research Programme of Ethnicity and Overseas Chinese Economies at Lingnan University.
