Zheng Wanlong 1944-

Born in Aihui county, Heilonjiang province. In 1974, Zheng became an editor at Peking Press and began his literary career, publishing the novels Xiangshuiwan [Splash bay] and Tongling ren [Contemporaries]. In the 1980s, he became associated with the "roots-seeking" movement in fiction because of the depictions of Oroqen culture in his writing. Other important collections include Mingtian xingdong [Tomorrow's actions], Shengming de tuteng [Totem of life] and You ren qiaomen [Someone is knocking at the door].
