Zhu Lin [real name Wang Zuling] 1949-

Born in Shanghai, Zhu Lin was sent down to the countryside during the Cultural Revolution for six years. After returning to the city in 1974, she became an editor at the Shanghai Children's Press. Her novels are mostly accounts of the fate of educated youth in the countryside. Her published novels include Shenghuo de lu [The path of life] (1979), Chenlu [Morning dew] (1984) and Nuxing—ren! [Females—people!] (1989). She has also published several novellas, short-story collections and prose.
