Zhu Xining (Chu Hsi-ning) [real name Zhu Qinghai] 1927-1998

Born in Shandong and studied at the National Art Institute of Hangzhou before joining the Nationalist army. In 1949 he went with that army to Taiwan. He has published several collections of short stories and is known for his experiments with narrative techniques and modes of expression. When he retired from the army, he became editor of New Literature Magazine.
