Theme of Lecture:
Intentionality in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty

Introduction:
Thanks to the support and participation of our advisors, peers and attendees, the first year of the Master Class in Phenomenology for Asian Scholars was proved to be a success. In order to further promote the study of phenomenology in the Asia Pacific region, the 2008 Master Class will be held from 10 to 27 August, 2008.

This year we are honored to have two internationally renowned scholars in phenomenology, Prof. John J. Drummond (Fordham University, USA) and Prof. Renaud Barbaras (University of Paris-Sorbonne, France) to be our lecturers. They will each give four 3-hour lectures on the theme “Intentionality in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty”. A symposium will also be held during the Master Class period, when every participant will give a presentation on a topic related to the theme.
