  1. Promoting healthy lifestyle to hong kong primary and secondary students:the "FUN-IN-SEVEN" program
Guldan, G.S., Food and Nutritional Sciences Programme and Department of Biochemistry, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China

Hong Kong students are not benefiting from programs developing lifelong healthy eating and physical activity habits. Therefore, the yearlong "FUN-IN-SEVEN" program was developed and evaluated in 12 primary and secondary schools. It aimed to combat obesity by promoting healthy eating and physical activity; develop systematic curricular materials; and enrich participating schools' "health culture". It was most effective at primary level, and least effective among the adolescent males. However, the project did improve the schools' "health cultures", and resulted in an educational website for teachers and students (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/fns/fun-in-seven) which has had over 70,000 visits since its May 2002 release.
