The SCIENCE BBA scheme will allow students to explore their interests in 11 science major programmes during their first year of study. The 11 participating major programmes include:
Characteristics - Admitted via SCIENCE, students can declare any one of these programme as their major. The characteristics of the SCIENCE BBA scheme are as follows:
Students under the broad-based admission scheme will go through a common set of courses - the Faculty Package - in their first year of study. There are five groups of courses in the package: chemistry, life sciences, mathematics, physics and statistics. Students will study at least three 3-unit courses from the Faculty Package. The first course shall be chosen from the student’s most desired major programme, the second course shall be chosen from a relevant subject and the third course shall be chosen from the remaining groups. Faculty Package - To better prepare students to select a major of study, a flexible first-year curriculum and a Faculty Package of courses have been designed for students with different HKDSE preparations. In the first year, students will study at least three 3-unit courses from the Faculty Package. For details, please refer to here. Other Major Programmes – Risk Management Science, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management Science, Enrichment Mathematics and Mathematics and Information Engineering (admitted via the Enrichment Mathematics Progarmme) – will admit students via the Programme-based Admission Scheme.
