Crime Prevention on Campus

Theft of private and public property at CUHK is not uncommon. In 2004, on average 2.4 cases of theft or burglary were reported to the Hong Kong Police each month. Nearly all of these cases involved the loss of mobile phones, notebook computers and I.T. equipments from offices, libraries and dormitories.

In order to better protect your personal property and that of the CUHK, the Security Unit has prepared the following video, with the help of the Hong Kong Police, to show you the most common ways through which property are stolen on campus and some advices on how to prevent them. All staff members and students are cordially invited to spend a moment of their time viewing the video. (Chinese Version ONLY)

校園內發生私人及大學財物失竊案件並非罕見，在二零零四年，平均每月有2.4宗盜竊或爆竊案向警方報案；幾乎所有竊案都發生在辦公室、圖書館或宿舍中，失物包括有流動電話、筆記簿式電腦和資訊器材等。

為使 閣下可以更妥善地保護私人和大學的財物，保安組得到香港警務處的協助，準備了下列視訊光碟，展示出匪徒在校園最常使用的偷竊手法，並且提出建議，讓 閣下能作防範。希請大學同仁及同學們都可以抽空觀看。
