The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is located in Shatin, New Territories.  Its 134-hectare campus with more than 130 buildings provides state-of-the-art facilities to over 5,200 staff members and 15,000 students.

The Security Unit is located on the first floor of the Security and Transport Building near the main entrance.  The Security Unit comprises of 90 uniformed security officers working round the clock in keeping CUHK campus one of the safest university campuses in the world.  The Security Unit performs a variety of functions.  It protects students, staff, residents and visitors from crime; it ensures that public functions are run in a smooth and orderly fashion; it regulates the daily throughput of over 3,000 vehicles, their parking and overall traffic management.  It handles accident investigations, fire alarm calls, lift traps, lock-in, nuisance calls, crowd control and most importantly it offers expert advice on risk assessment and fully committed in the maintenance of good law and order on campus.
