PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The B.Ed. programme in Physical Education and Sports Science offered by the Department aims at training physical education teachers, coaches, and sports management personnel for local academic institutions, as well as government and private organisations. Students can choose to train as generalists in sports and physical education, or specialist in areas of Exercise Physiology, Sports Biomechanics, Sports Psychology, Sports Management, Physical Education Curriculum, Sports Pedagogy, Health and Fitness and Test and Measurement. Those interested in research can take the research method course and conduct research on topics of their choice. This programme leads to the award of a BEd degree and an equivalent of a Postgraduate-Diploma-in-Education qualification.

    Notes:

    2. All SPED and EDUC courses coded 2000 and above will be included in the calculation of the Major GPA for honours classification.

    Change of Major
    Application Period: 2- 25 June, 2010

    Students who wish to apply for major in Physical Education and Sports Science should complete this form, and the prescribed form obtainable from the Registration and Examinations Section(RGS) or may be downloaded from RES hompage: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/rgs from 2 June onward. The completed forms together with your University's academic report(s) should be returned to our General Office on or before 25 June, 2010. Students will be notified the result by telephone on or before 30 June, 2010. The General Office will submit the approved application form to the RGS on or before 12 July, 2010.
