QUALIFICATION
FOR ADMISSION
Applicants must have a recognized bachelor degree , normally with honours not lower than Second Class,
or equivalent. Applicants should fulfill the "English Language Proficiency Requirement" as stipulated

PROGRAMME
DESCRIPTION
The Programme will facilitate the study of sports science by focusing
on the provision and practice of sports in modern societies. It will
provide a sound theoretical background to enrich studentsˇ¦ knowledge
base and enable them to apply this knowledge to their specific sports
setting. The programme is designed to cater for the specific needs
of sports administrators or sports coaches. Those interested in
sports administration, management and promotion will focus on courses
that provide a sound theoretical background to enrich their knowledge
base and enable them to apply this knowledge to their specific sports
setting. Those students who are sports coaches will be able to select
from a range of courses that will enrich their knowledge base in
coaching theory and practice. Elective courses will enable them
to enrich their knowledge in Sports Physiology, Sports and Exercise
Psychology/Motor Behaviour and Sports Biomechanics in addition to
strategic planning for sports development. Both strands will provide
students with an opportunity to engage in sports research or an in-service
sports project.

student who obtains a cumulative grade point average (GPA)
below 2.0 in the preceding term or receives a failure grade
in thesis monitoring courses (for Research Postgraduate
Programmes) will be put on academic probation. For details,
