(Exercise Science)

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION

Applicants must have a recognized bachelor degree , normally with honours not lower than Second Class, or equivalent. Applicants should fulfill the "English Language Proficiency Requirement" as stipulated by the Graduate School. PERIOD OF STUDY

Full-time Programme: 1 year (maximum period of study: 3 years)(Suspension of admission in 2011-2012)

Part-time Programme: 2 years (maximum period of study: 4 years)


PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

This programme is designed to provide specialized study in exercise science. Graduates from this programme will posses in-depth understanding in major areas of Exercise Science, allowing them to either specialize, increase their knowledge in exercise science, or further studies in Higher Degree Programmes.
The areas of specialization include: Sports Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology/Motor Behaviour, Sports Sociology, Health & Fitness and Sports Medicine. This programme is suitable for those in the profession of sports, education, health and social services, including sports science and medicine practitioners, school teachers, nurses, allied health professionals, health administrators, social workers, coaches, athletes, team managers and others interested in the profession of sports and exercise science.

1.Course Requirement:

a.) Applicable to students admitted in 2010-11 and thereafter

Students are required to take at least 24 units of courses for graduation.

2. Other Requirements

(b) Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
(c)
A student who obtains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) below 2.0 in the preceding term or receives a failure grade in thesis monitoring courses (for Research Postgraduate Programmes) will be put on academic probation.
