學長計劃經驗分享會 

聯合書院與書院校友會合辦之第五屆學長計劃於二零零五年五月廿一日（星期六）在賽馬會上水雙魚河鄉村會所舉行年終經驗分享會，藉以加強學長學員間的溝通及總結全年活動的成效。當日有五十多位學長學員出席，活動包括小組分享，參觀會所及享用自助餐。
　

UC Mentorship Programme – Sharing Session

To foster better communication among participants of the UC Mentorship Programme and to review the programme’s development, a sharing session was held on 21 May 2005 at the Beas River Country Club. Over 50 mentors and mentees attended the function. Everyone has enjoyed the discussion and interaction with other participants of the programme.

2004/05聯合書院創新與創業獎

爭奪聯合書院首屆創新與創業獎的四隊入圍隊伍於二零零五年五月二十八日為他們參賽的「創新與創業」商業計劃作介紹。書院邀得陳方正博士、蔡棉教授、區玉輝教授及葉智勇先生擔任比賽評判。區玉輝教授、蔡美玲博士和譚安厚教授亦出任顧問。

奪得是次比賽「創新與創業」大獎的隊伍是以　“ShinePower”為商業計劃名稱的隊伍，成員包括陳晶晶同學(心理系四年級)，劉淑貞同學(環境科學系四年級)及趙嘉欣同學(翻譯系四年級)。馮國培院長即場頒授伍千元大獎予勝出隊伍，而所有入圍隊伍亦各獲二千元資助。

本獎項蒙書院基金會支持，於2004/05年度成立，鼓勵不同學系和年級的同學參加，並歡迎本院學生與其他書院同學合作組隊參賽。

United College Innovation and Entrepreneurial Project Award 2004/05

Four teams presented their business plan in front of a judging panel at the final meeting of the Award on 28 May 2005. Judges included Dr F C Chen, Professor Y M Choy, Professor Kevin Au and Mr Terry Yip. Professor Kevin Au, Dr B L Chua and Professor Hugh Thomas of the Business Faculty were advisors of the award scheme.

The winning team comprising Ms Chan Ching Ching (PSY/4), Ms Lau Shuk Ching (ENS/4) and Ms Chiu Ka Yan (TRA/4) presented their business plan titled “ShinePower, Self-cleaning Crystal Chandelier” and won the grand prize of HK$5,000. The other three finalist teams were each awarded a prize of HK $2,000. Professor K P Fung, College Head, presented the prizes.

This award scheme was launched in 2004/05 with the support of the United College Endowment Fund. Students from different faculties and years are welcome to join the scheme, and team members may include students from other Colleges.

語文改善計劃消息 - 暑期外地語文及文化計劃

本年度之暑期外地語文及文化計劃的報名情況非常踴躍。經過一輪面試後，書院經已選拔出四十五位同學，獲得書院資助參加與英國蘇格蘭愛丁堡及中國清華大學協辦暑期語文及文化課程。

News from Language Improvement Project - Non-Local Language & Culture Programmes

This year’s Summer Non-local Language and Culture Programmes have received enthusiastic support from students. A total of 45 students were selected to participate in the summer programmes co-organized by University of Edinburgh in the UK and Tsinghua University in the PRC. The list of selected students is in Attachment 1.

海外及研究獎學金頒獎茶聚

本年度書院海外及研究獎學金頒獎茶聚已於二零零五年七月七日在思源文娛中心舉行。當日出席的嘉賓包括捐獎人、書院獎學金及學生資助委員會委員、獲獎同學家長及書院同人等。

Tea-gathering with Overseas and Postgraduate Scholarship Recipients

A tea-gathering for this year’s overseas and postgraduate scholarship recipients was held on 7 July 2005 at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre. Donors, members of the Scholarships and Student Finance Committee, scholarship recipients and their parents were present.
